This Lunar New Year in Adelaide, the city offers an exciting array of events that promise to immerse residents and visitors alike in the rich traditions and spirit of this celebration. In 2024, Lunar New Year will take place on Sunday 10 February 2024 and the festivities will last for 15 days and will end on 24 February 2024.

Chinese New Year Banquet and Performance 10 – 11 Feb

Check out Citi Zen’s Chinese New Year banquet menus and prosperity potlucks, available from the 7th to the 25th of February. Potluck’s are a way to share with the whole table, allowing you to enjoy and try a variety of dishes, including meals like steamed scallops, live lobster, chicken mushroom and creamy soup and much more. Lion dances and kung fu performances are on the 10th and 11th of February during dinner.

Lunar New Year at Adelaide Arcade | 12 Feb

Adelaide Arcade will be transformed into a magnificent display of Chinese lanterns to symbolise happiness and bring good luck for the new year. Enjoy watching Lion Dancers perform a special Lunar New Year show to celebrate the new year.

They will be handing out traditional lucky red envelopes containing a gold chocolate coin, which is a Lunar New Year traditional gift symbolising the giving of happiness and blessings (some of the red envelopes include an Adelaide Arcade gift voucher).

Lunar New Year 2024 at SkyCity | 15 Feb

Rundle Place Lunar New Year Festivities | 16 Feb
