If you’re looking to see out winter in style, there’s a seaside event with fire pits, great food and a stunning heritage setting that has your August plans sorted.
On Saturday, August 22nd, Fort Largs Eatery & Market will come to life after dark, with Fire & Tide transforming into a cosy winter gathering filled with local food, live music, artisan makers and plenty of reasons to linger long after the sun goes down.
Running from 4pm until 10pm, the free community event invites locals to rug up, gather their favourite people and explore one of Adelaide’s most fascinating heritage sites while enjoying an evening of food, music and entertainment.
Originally built in 1885 as a coastal defence fort protecting South Australia’s shoreline, Fort Largs has lived many lives over the past 140 years. After serving as a military training site and later the South Australian Police Academy, the landmark sat vacant for years before being lovingly restored as the Fort Largs Eatery & Markets precinct.
Today, the historic red-brick fort has become a popular community destination, and Fire & Tide is set to showcase exactly why.
Throughout the evening, guests can settle in to enjoy live performances from Ruby Zoontjens Jazz and Social Beats Latin, browse local artisan stalls and sample food from some of Adelaide’s favourite vendors.
The food lineup includes Sanduba Brazilian BBQ, Braising Boy Tacos, Feed Me Potatoes, House of Fish, Providore 1885, The Matcha Room and Ekin Wines, while artisan makers including Nylah Atelier, Little Galah Creations and Hoomans Best Friend Treats will also be showcasing their creations.
With the historic fort illuminated for the occasion and the coastline providing a spectacular backdrop, the event offers a different way to experience one of Adelaide’s most unique heritage destinations.
