Buying directly from the people who grow, raise and make our food is one of the easiest ways to support South Australian farmers and small businesses.
Across the state, local producers are opening their farm gates, attending farmers’ markets and offering home delivery, giving shoppers the chance to purchase everything from pasture-raised meat and fresh eggs to olive oil, honey, flowers and seasonal produce.
Buying from the source means more money stays with the producer, while customers can learn exactly where their food comes from and how it was made.
With the help of Farm Finder AU, a website that helps find direct-purchase farms across the country, here are seven South Australian farms where you can buy direct.
Gum Park Beef, Mount Jagged

Run by Trev and Janelle Paech on their family farm at Mount Jagged, Gum Park Beef produces ethically and organically raised beef and pork using farming methods focused on animal welfare, healthy soils and high-quality food.
The couple only sells meat raised on their own farm, where they practise stress-free handling, rotational grazing and chemical-free farming. Their cattle graze on pasture supplemented with essential minerals, while the pigs are also fed organic food waste diverted from landfill.
