Home of Plenty is lighting up the Fleurieu this winter with fire, food & hi-fi as its immersive Solstice festival returns

Home of Plenty’s Winter Solstice returns in 2026 with an immersive program of fire, food, music and alternative art in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The Fleurieu Peninsula’s hottest Winter Solstice festival is back in 2026, taking over the stunning Home of Plenty with art, music and fire.

Since opening its doors at the end of 2024, Home of Plenty has quickly built a reputation as one of the Fleurieu’s most distinctive destinations. Known for its Palm Springs-inspired cellar door, Mediterranean flavours and sun-drenched summer events, the venue has also carved out something unexpectedly special in the cooler months, an immersive winter festival that has kept people returning year after year.

Winter Solstice began from a passion for creativity, designed to bring art and music into the heart of winter. In previous years, the event has even stretched into late-night and 24-hour-style programming, offering guests a rare chance to experience the venue under moonlight. While Home of Plenty shines in summer, there’s something about its quieter, fire-lit winter atmosphere that has become a defining part of the experience.

In 2026, the festival returns on Sunday, June 21st, with a fresh focus on food, local produce and discovery. Set in the lesser-known Currency Creek region, this year’s event will spotlight an area many visitors are still unfamiliar with, something the team sees as part of its charm.

“This year is really about bringing in food and really interesting local producers,” the Home of Plenty crew said. “There are so many incredible makers in the region who don’t have cellar doors or aren’t widely known, so the idea is to give them a platform and let people experience what they’re creating.”

This year’s theme is Strange Strains. “It leans into alternative and natural winemaking in the region, as well as food and produce, which we’ll be showcasing. The music programming also reflects that, it’s a bit alternative,” shared team. In winemaking, strains can refer to yeast or grape varieties, while in music, it speaks to rhythm and expression, two worlds that come together across the festival program.

Expect a deliberately alternative edge throughout the day, from sound to plate. Audio specialists Inside Out will transform part of the venue into a hi-fi listening space, delivering a curated, immersive experience where selectors move beyond traditional DJ sets to explore albums, deep cuts and genre-spanning soundscapes. Adelaide jazz, funk and doof acts will bring live performances designed to shift and lift the winter mood.

The Audio Immersion Space is a reimagined listening environment where audiences can experience live music up close, without the traditional stage barrier. It’s intimate, unexpected and designed to deepen the connection between performer and audience.

The food will be centred around fire-based cooking, inspired by South American asado-style techniques, while local wine producers and artists perfectly complement the experience.

The event is all about interactivity, rather than being a passive viewer. Past editions have included pottery workshops, performance art and experimental collaborations, all of which will continue to shape the festival’s future.

And while winter in the Fleurieu might bring a chill, the team is confident that’s part of the appeal.

“It’s not the most comfortable time of year, but you throw on a jacket and come out,” they said. “We’ve got fires, food, music and indoor spaces, it’s about doing something a bit different.”

Winter Solstice 2026 is shaping up to be the ultimate June event, definitely one you’ll want to add to the calendar.
