One of the western suburb’s most well-known watering holes, the Hotel Royal in Torrensville, has recently had a makeover and should be at the top of your list for good pub grub, icy cold beers, and your next event with friends and family.
With a brand new bar and courtyard that’s now open, the Hotel Royal, formally known as Condesa, has upped the ante in terms of style and sophistication, offering refined spaces that can be enjoyed all year round, making it a haven for all seasons. Featuring a retractable roof, the new courtyard is the perfect spot to enjoy a few frothies on those picturesque summer days or keep cosy during winter months.
The Hotel Royal’s new bar has been relocated and features newly designed booth spaces, perfect for an intimate catch-up with friends or a cosy date night. Stocked with all the favourite local wines, including Paxton, Hentley Farm, Mollydooker and Seppeltsfield, there’s also a wide selection of beers and a premium range of spirits, which are highlighted throughout the extensive drinks and cocktail menu featuring the classics—Espresso Martinis, Jalapeno Margaritas and Garden Gin Sours.
Besides an overhaul of the venue, the bistro food menu has also had a revamp—shifting away from the previous Mexican-inspired dishes and opting for more Australian cuisine and pub classics, beginning with a variety of sharing options, including pork belly doughnut sliders, teriyaki mushroom skewers and truffle chips with parmesan. If you’re looking for a classic pub meal, there’s the much-loved schnitis, salt and pepper squid, a selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads and pizzas, as well as main dishes, including wood-smoked lamb and smoked scotch fillet.
Besides the new bar and courtyard, there’s the updated sports bar, Back Pocket—the perfect place to watch all the games whilst enjoying a cold beer and delicious food. Upstairs in this area, there are also the Grandstand spaces which can be booked for private functions, birthday celebrations or after-work knock-offs before you head into the weekend.
The Hotel Royal Cellars has also been recently renovated, and the team are happy to help you discover a new favourite drop as you browse through their extensive collection of premium local and imported wines, craft beers, and spirits.
Whilst stage two renovations have now been completed, the team at The Hotel Royal haven’t finished yet, with stage 3 well and truly underway with expected completion by October. What’s still to come? A new restaurant complete with full table service will be arriving soon, as well as a new function space, Torrensville Loft—soon to be available for larger private bookings and functions.
