Prospect foodie hot spot KOYO hosts modern Asian Yum Cha banquet this month, with cuisine inspired by the Japanese coal fire.

On Saturday, January 27th, Asian and foodie hotspot KOYO is set to host a modern Yum Cha banquet, promising an evening of delicious flavours and fine dining for all who attend.

Located in the heart of Prospect, KOYO’s cuisine is inspired by the Japanese coal fire and has always been a favourite among SA diners, so if you’ve never been, this event is a perfect opportunity to get a true taste of what makes this restaurant so popular.

Starting at 11 am until 2:30 pm, this one-of-a-kind Yum Cha banquet is a journey through the diverse and rich flavours of Asia, combining both creativity and tradition.

KOYO’s chefs have prepared a menu that is both innovative and comforting and features an array of the restaurant’s signature dishes, including their exquisite dumplings, savoury wontons, and a variety of baos that are nothing short of mouth-watering. Each dish is crafted in-house, showcasing the skill and dedication of KOYO’s chefs, and for just $35 a person, the day is guaranteed to be a feast for the senses.

KOYO, which means autumn in Japanese, is a true dining experience.

The warm, inviting aesthetic, with its palette of burgundies, oranges, and yellows, reflects the beauty and transformation of the autumn season, and this theme of new life and growth is woven into every aspect of KOYO—from the decor to the dishes.

While the Yum Cha banquet is a special event, KOYO’s doors are open every day of the week except Tuesdays. From 11 am to 2:30 pm for lunch and 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at night (weekends until 9:30 pm), guests can indulge in the best of Japanese-inspired cuisine.

And for those who can’t decide what to choose off the menu, there is a Feed Me option for $70 per person (or an additional $13 per person for steak), with everything from small and big plates, skewers and sweets.

In addition, every Wednesday, KOYO offer $29 steak and fries and 20% off your bill on Thursdays, but only when you pre-book your table.
