If you’re in the midst of dreaming up your perfect wedding day, there’s one event you’ll want to pencil into your calendar.
The National Wine Centre is opening its doors for its annual Wedding Open Day on Sunday, August 23rd, giving couples the chance to explore one of Adelaide’s most sought-after reception venues while meeting some of the city’s top wedding suppliers, all in one place.
From 11am to 1pm, the free event will offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look at what a wedding at the National Wine Centre could look like for a wedding, complete with beautifully styled spaces, seasonal food and wine, live entertainment and plenty of inspiration.

Led by Wedding Executive Olivia Moenoa, guests will be able to tour the award-winning venue, chat with industry experts and discover the National Wine Centre’s latest wedding packages. There will also be an array of exclusive offers available for bookings made on the day.
On the day, guests will be able to explore a whole range of packages from smaller, more relaxed celebrations to larger, more extravagant parties. “Our wedding packages are classic and are a great offering for couples,” shared Olivia.
Guests will be met with a sparkling wine on arrival, roaming canapés, wine tastings and live music, plus a tour of the venue to get a real feel for what a wedding there might be like.
Throughout the venue, several reception spaces will be set up to showcase a different wedding aesthetic. Hickinbotham Hall will host the exhibitor showcase alongside a styled bridal table, while the Exhibition Hall, Vines Room and Gallery Room will each feature their own unique concepts.

Olivia says she’s seeing weddings embracing bold colours, rich textures and layered styling. These trending styles will all be on show at the event. “Burgundy, silk draping, wave tables and centrepieces beyond florals are all really popular at the moment,” she said. “Themes and trends are forever changing, but what never changes is the individuality of each wedding to match the couple’s style. No two are the same, no matter what the trend is.”
Guests will also be able to explore plenty of entertainment options. Entertainment Adelaide will provide live performances throughout the event, with pianist Peter Savvas setting the mood before live musicians take centre stage. Visitors may even get to witness a live first dance demonstration, bringing a little extra romance to the afternoon.

More than 18 preferred suppliers will also be on hand, covering everything from florists, photographers and celebrants to stylists, entertainers, live illustrators and sweet treats. Exhibitors include Luke John Photography, Blooming Bridal, Entertainment Adelaide, Angelik Blossoms, Coco Candles, Modern Party Hire, The Wedding Content Creators, Lifesketch Weddings, Charlotte Beddoes Live Illustration, St Louis Gelato Cart and many more.
“We have a range of suppliers joining us on our Open Day this year, from photographers, florists, stylists, entertainment, a live illustrator and even a sweet treat provided by St Louis Gelato Cart,” shared Olivia.
Those arriving early will also get a special treat, with the first 100 registered guests receiving a complimentary gift bag packed with goodies. There will also be lucky door prizes up for grabs, including premium wine from the National Wine Centre and prizes from Crowne Plaza Adelaide.

So whether you’ve just started planning or you’re putting the finishing touches on your dream day, the Wedding Open Day offers the perfect opportunity to discover new ideas, meet local experts and imagine what your celebration could look like at one of Adelaide’s most iconic venues.
