Forget omelettes and avocado toast; The LOC Bottle Bar’s new breakfast series is offering diverse takes on brunch from the minds of some of Adelaide’s best chefs.

The first monthly event will take place on June 6, with Africola’s Lauren Southwell cooking up a Hong Kong-style breakfast with a German twist. The multicultural offerings continue on July 4, with a Korean-style breakfast from Golden Boy’s Jenny Kim, and on August 8, with a vegetarian Indian-style breakfast by Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant’s Emma McCaskill.

The chefs chose their cuisine for a specific reason.

“Toast is monthly brunch event where you can catch chefs such as Emma McCaskill, Jenny Kim, and Lauren Southwell showcasing the breakfast and brunch dishes from their country of origin or country they identify with,” the event says.

The series of events will take place at Hindmarsh Square’s LOC Bottle Bar. The lo-fi bar has an industrial-style and simplistic wine wall, bottles stacked by region.

LOC’s founder Olivia Moore originally created the space to introduce customers to new wines.

“The bar is an avenue to show the wine because if they are unfamiliar to people, it’s good to be able to pull it out and have a chat about it,” she told us

“It’s about serving wines which I think people should have a go at trying.”

However now, the founder has carried that mentality into the bar’s food offerings as well, serving up a different multicultural brunch every month. Naturally, though, the wine and booze-oriented idea that inspired LOC Bottle Bar will still be prevalent in breakfast, so expect an alcohol-filled morning!
