Port Adelaide will glow after dark this August, when eight giant neon frogs take over Commercial Road as part of a new free, family-friendly night-time experience.
River Night Walk will transform the historic waterfront precinct with illuminated sculptures, live music, fire, food and markets across three nights from Friday August 14 to Sunday August 16.
Running from 5.30pm to 9pm each evening, the event is expected to attract around 10,000 people to Commercial Road and Black Diamond Square.
The centrepiece will be Night Walkers, a large-scale installation by creative studio Amigo & Amigo, featuring a colony of eight brightly lit frogs positioned along Commercial Road.

“Get ready to see Port Adelaide burst with colour, art, song and winter revelry like you’ve never seen before,” Port Adelaide Mayor Claire Boan said.
“River Night Walk is an exciting activation that shows how one of the state’s most historic and beloved precincts can come alive in such a unique way.”
The program will also include Shore Lines, a new SALA Festival work created by artists Laura Wills and Louise Flaherty with Violet Buckskin.

Visitors will be able to join SALA Up Late, a guided tour led by local artists that combines Port Adelaide’s arts scene with its hospitality venues after dark.
A trail of light, sound and fire will lead visitors towards the river, while Porch Records will curate a dedicated music stage. Live performances will also take place inside some of the Port’s best-known venues.
Site-specific works by local and interstate artists will be positioned throughout the precinct, encouraging visitors to explore and interact with the area’s art, stories and living shoreline.
Local markets, food trucks and dining options from some of the Port’s popular food businesses will round out the festival-style program.
