Postmodern Jukebox sets the stage for a vintage musical revolution at Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2026

Step back in time with Postmodern Jukebox as they bring their ‘The Future Is Vintage’ tour to the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in June 2026, offering a unique blend of retro style and modern hits.

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox is heading back to Australia in 2026, returning with their brand-new world tour, The Future Is Vintage, after overwhelming demand from fans around the globe.

Adelaide audiences can catch the internationally acclaimed collective at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival on Sunday June 21, as part of a run that will also hit Perth, Hobart, Melbourne, Bendigo, Geelong, Canberra, Thirroul, Newcastle, Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

The new show promises the irresistible time-warping flair Postmodern Jukebox is known for, with singers, dancers and instrumentalists reimagining everything from 70s rock anthems and 80s Britpop classics to modern chart-toppers, iconic movie themes and even video game soundtracks. Blending dance-ready numbers with jaw-dropping showstoppers, the tour is pitched as the perfect date night or a fun family night out — a reminder of why PMJ has become a global live favourite.

Founder and arranger Scott Bradlee says the tour arrives at exactly the right moment. “In the midst of the AI hype all around us, some folks have gone so far as to proclaim that in the no-to-distant future, all of the music that we listen to will be AI generated…we’ll gladly take the other side of that wager,” he says. “On the 2026 Postmodern Jukebox UK/Europe/Australia/New Zealand tour, we’re humbly presenting our own unique vision of a spectacular future; one that is built upon the timeless musical genres of the past and the authentically human spirit of creativity that inspired them.”

What began as Bradlee’s YouTube experiment — taking modern hits and reinventing them in vintage styles — has become a global sensation since exploding online in 2014. Postmodern Jukebox quickly moved from viral fame to sold-out concert halls, collecting rave reviews, celebrity admirers and a reputation as the “Saturday Night Live of singers” for introducing audiences to a rotating cast of powerhouse performers. Now boasting two billion YouTube views and more than a decade of touring, PMJ continues to attract multi-generational audiences who love its nostalgic charm, musical virtuosity and clever pop-culture twists.

Fans are encouraged to embrace the theme and dress in their best vintage looks to complete the full time-travel experience.
