Mayura Station’s The Tasting Room in Millicent has been named “2023 Best Steak Restaurant in Australia” at the prestigious Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence, organised by Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA).

It was announced at a glittering awards ceremony in Sydney earlier this week.

“Very proud of the dedicated team at The Tasting Room for delivering such an outstanding dining experience! And the entire team at Mayura for producing such a consistently amazing product,” Mayura Station celebrated in a Facebook post.

Leading the charge, head chef Mark Wright has curated a meat lovers dream menu, offering a set-menu featuring a four-course dining option for $160 per person.

The menu is prepared by utilising the best cuts if full-blood Wagyu Beef available on the day and fresh, seasonal produce.

Speaking to Tasting Australia, Mark said serving a once in a lifetime experience to their customers is a gift like no other.

“Every time I prepare a steak for our customers I feel like a kid in a candy store, I love seeing the marbling and I have full confidence that every piece of beef served will the give the diner a memorable experience,” he said.
