The story behind SALT. German Bakehouse is one of passion and perseverance. After sixteen years in Australia, the founders felt the absence of German-style pretzels so keenly that they decided to ‘end the drought’ themselves.
Starting with pretzels and pretzel rolls, they’ve hinted that they’re open to suggestions for other beloved German baked goods to add to their repertoire.
This weekend, as the Adelaide Showground buzzes with events like @gillesatthegrounds, the Tiny Homes Expo, and Super Nova Comic Con, SALT. German Bakehouse will be there to add to the excitement. The Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market has grown considerably over the past 16 years and sees on average 3,500 shoppers attending every Sunday to shop with approximately 100 stallholders indoors and outdoors at our home site in the Adelaide Showground.
