See Red This May And Kiss Goodbye To MS

Kiss-MS-GoodbyeGet bold and beautiful this May and dare to wear bright red to support the national Kiss Goodbye to MS campaign which launches on May 1 and culminates in World MS Day on May 29.

MS is a chronic, debilitating disease of the central nervous system for which there is no known cause or cure. It is the most common neurological disease in young Australians which affects more than 23,000 people around the country. Diagnosis of MS is typically between 20 and 40 years of age and three out of four people affected are women – a little known fact.

Everyone this May is challenged to wear, dare and share in order to raise awareness and funds for vital support, services and research into multiple sclerosis (MS).

Wear – Taking part in the campaign and raising awareness and funds for MS could be as simple as wearing red lipstick (or a lip sticker), holding a red casual day at your work, inviting friends and family to a kiss ‘n’ make-up beauty session, or organising a special event at your home, workplace or in your community.

Dare – For those that are willing to do something more daring or outrageous to raise funds – perhaps a skydive, a bungee jump or an epic ocean swim is more your style. Or even challenging a male colleague to wear red lipstick or a red dress!

Share – Take part in our ‘photo a day’ campaign by uploading a different photo each day to coincide with the theme for that day. Or simply share your stories, ideas, support on Facebook and other social media.

“There are already so many inspirational people doing the most amazing things all aimed at raising funds for research into MS and for services for those affected,’ said Jeremy Wright, CEO of MS Research Australia which runs the campaign.

Best friends Norelle and Chanel are holding a Kiss Goodbye to MS cocktail party Caledonian Hotel in North Adelaide on Friday 31st May. Norelle Branford’s father was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) 10 years ago and experienced rapid deterioration.

“It is a very heart breaking disease to watch someone go through and this year, along with the help from my best friend, we decided to start fundraising together for this cause,” she said.
