Think you know what a good gin and tonic tastes like? Put your skills to the ultimate test at Never Never Distilling Co. and Fever Tree’s ‘The Great Aussie G&T Off‘ this Adelaide Cup long weekend in McLaren Vale.

Following the resounding success of last year’s event, the expansive lawns of Chalk Hill will once again transform into a hub of gin-infused excitement for one-day only, on Sunday 10th of March.

It promises an unparalleled drinks experience ‘unlike anything else in Australia’, as the search for the best gin and tonic in the country continues.

“This year, we’re changing it up a bit,” Sean Baxter, co-founder of Never Never Distilling Co, says.  “We’ve selected five of the best gin and tonic recipes from around the country featuring three of our most popular gin styles, Triple Juniper Gin, Oyster Shell Gin and Ginache.”

These handpicked recipes, gathered over three years of the ‘Step Into the Never Never’ competition, represent the pinnacle of creativity and craftsmanship in mixology. “In that time hundreds of G&T’s have been submitted, so this is truly the very best of the best,” Sean says.

The meticulously crafted cocktails will be expertly prepared by highly trained bartenders and evaluated by an esteemed panel of industry judges, including Australia’s Fever Tree National Ambassador Trish Brew.

Attendees will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their favourite libation, with the winning beverage earning a host of fantastic prizes.

From mandarin-infused Indian tonic water paired with Ginache to fennel sea salt garnishes accompanying Oyster Shell Gin, the lineup promises a sensory delight for gin enthusiasts and novices alike.

“We will make it fun, we will make it outrageous, but most of all we make it delicious,” says Baxter with a tiny twist of classic Bake Off flair.

Against the picturesque backdrop of Never Never Distilling Co.’s brand home, guests will be treated to a vibrant atmosphere complete with bunting, multicolored umbrellas, and deckchairs, inviting them to soak in the McLaren Vale ambiance.

Tickets for the event will grant access to three sessions throughout the afternoon, each offering a selection of Fever Tree tonic and soda options alongside two gin and tonics from the specially curated menu.

Guests will be able to vote for their favourite out of the line up using their tickets, as well as sample a selection of Fever Tree tonic and soda options.

As is always the case on every long weekend up the hill, expect an array of entertainment, including live music by DJ Tommy Tequila, lawn games, gin flights, and tantalising Italian street food courtesy of Cucina Di Strada.

Tickets will be available for three sessions across the afternoon. The ticket ensures you have access to the G&T lawn as well as two gin and tonics from the selected menu. There will be three sessions across the day starting at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

There are extremely limited spaces, so make sure you book your place in order to secure your seat to enjoy possibly the best G&T you’ve had this March Long Weekend.
