Thriller, The Unknown Man begins filming in South Australia

Joel Edgerton and Mission Impossible star Sean Harris will be starring in the film, which is being helmed by writer/director Thomas M. Wright.

Filming has begun on the Joel Edgerton (Loving, Boy Erased) and Sean Harris (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, The King) thriller The Unknown Man in South Australia.

The original feature film is is a crime thriller in which two strangers, Henry and Mark, meet and strike up a friendship.

What Henry doesn’t know is that Mark is a seasoned undercover officer working to convict Henry for an unsolved murder committed years earlier.

The original feature film is being helmed by writer/director Thomas M. Wright (Acute Misfortune) and produced by See-Saw Films (Lion, The King’s Speech), Anonymous Content (Boy Erased, Spotlight) and Blue-Tongue Films (Boy Erased, The King).

“We welcome the start of production of The Unknown Man in South Australia, which has created 120 jobs for South Australian crews and cast, including many talented and experienced South Australian Heads of Department, and additional roles for some 380 extras,” said South Australia’s Minister for Innovation and Skills, David Pisoni.

The project has major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Trinity Media Financing International, with support from the South Australian Film Corporation, Screen NSW, National Bank of Canada and Fulcrum Media Finance.

“We are delighted to welcome two Academy Award-winning production companies in See-Saw Films and Anonymous Content to South Australia, along with iconic Australian actor and producer Joel Edgerton, of Blue-Tongue Films,” said CEO of the South Australian Film Corporation, Kate Croser.

“Such a high profile, major production as this is not only a boon for local crew, talent and screen service providers from right across the sector, it further cements South Australia’s international reputation as an attractive and COVID-safe location for filming and production. We thank SA Health for their instrumental role in working with us to enable production to get underway.”

Simon Gillis, See-Saw’s COO of Film, Thorsten Schumacher and Lars Sylvest from Rocket Science, and Morgan Emmery and Jean-Charles Levy from Trinity Media Financing will serve as Executive Producers.
