Join the stall holders for an exciting pre-game gathering at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market for their ‘Catch us before the game’ weekend!

Whether you wish to kick off your day with delicious breakfast options and freshly brewed coffee or soak up some of the best local produce South Australia has to offer, we promise the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market is the place to be!

Here are the top 5 reasons to checkout the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market this Gather Round;

1. The market is completely accessible!

Whether you’re a homegrown South Aussie or travelling from elsewhere, the Market is just a 5-minute drive from Adelaide CBD to the Adelaide Showground where plenty of parking will be available off Rose Terrace in Wayville. The markets are also just a short tram, train, or bus ride from the city centre.

2. The seasonal produce is incredible.

Think purple cauliflower, oranges, new season potatoes, pumpkins, and pears. This is a great opportunity to stock up your AirBnB if you’re travelling from interstate!

3. The Diversity

With over 100 market stalls indoor and outdoor, the Farmers’ Market boasts a wide range of diverse food, fit for everyone’s taste palate. Some regulars include Harts Vegetables, Jamface with Poh, Let Them Eat, Woodside Cheese Wrights, Feather & Peck, Hahndorf Gourmet, and many, many more.

4. It’s the largest and best

The Market is South Australia’s largest, and was recognised as the nation’s best farmers’ market in the 2022 delicious Produce Awards. It is also a not-for-profit organisation. By shopping at the Market, you are supporting small family farms, agriculture diversity, and fresh, seasonal food.

5. Entry is FREE.

Everyone loves free entry, and if you become a member of the Market for $75, you’ll also receive 10% off all purchases made at the Market. You’re not only saving on shopping, but helping support the market and its vital work in building a place for small local growers to sell produce directly to consumers. You also have direct opportunity to learn more about the produce you are buying often with tastings as well as buying in bulk.

“During the last Gather Round event, we witnessed a notable increase in attendees, enticed by the opportunity to venture beyond the city limits, particularly those from interstate. They joined us at the market before the games for breakfast and to shop for supplies,” ASFM Market CEO Christine Robertson said.

The Kids Club will also be pumping with a ‘guernsey cookie decorating workshop’. Kids will be able to decorate their own Guernsey Shaped Cookie in their favourite sports team colours using edible paint markers. Limited spots are available, so get in early. The workshop is FREE for kids (Donations welcome) and will take place between 10-11 am in the Market Pavilion at the Eastern end. No bookings required but adult supervision is essential.

Following their victory in the “Excellence in Food Tourism” category at the South Australian Tourism Awards in November 2023, the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market (ASFM) progressed to claim a Bronze medal in March 2024 on the national stage of the Australian Tourism Awards, affirming their excellence in the realm of food tourism.

The market is open every Sunday at the Adelaide Showground from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
