Winners announced for 2023 Adelaide Advertising and Design Club Awards

The event, held at Plant 4 in Bowden, was a sold-out affair that brought together the crème de la crème of Adelaide’s advertising and design talent.

In a celebration of local creative brilliance, the Adelaide Advertising and Design Club (AADC) wrapped up a week of inspiring talks and workshops with a bang at the 46th Annual AADC Awards.

The event, held at Plant 4 in Bowden, was a sold-out affair that brought together the crème de la crème of Adelaide’s advertising and design talent.

The prestigious Gold Chair, signifying the pinnacle of advertising excellence, was clinched by Fuller for their evocative digital video campaign “Kangaroo Island. Unfiltered.” The campaign, which showcased the raw beauty of Kangaroo Island, resonated deeply with both audience and judges.

Design finesse was at the forefront as Parallax scooped up the Rita Siow Award for their striking packaging design for Callington Mill Distillery’s Poltergeist Gin. The award, named in honor of the late Rita Siow, celebrates the most outstanding design piece of the year.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2023 President’s Award to KOJO Group’s Dale Roberts. Recognised with the iconic watering can trophy, Roberts was honoured for his significant and enduring impact on the creative industry since 1991.

The Master’s Chair for Best in Craft went to Stephen Deeble of Visualizm for his exceptional editing work on Think Road Safety’s Love Riding film, continuing the tradition of road safety campaigns making a strong showing at the awards.

Black Sheep Advertising emerged victorious in the For Good category, winning the Chair for Good for their work on the Bloody Important Conversation microsite for TABOO Period Products. This category, introduced in 2022, highlights creative work that drives social change.

Showpony led the overall awards tally with an impressive haul of 9 accolades, followed by Fuller with 5, and sector7g with 4. Other notable winners included Simple, StudioBand, The Audio Embassy, and Visualizm, each taking home multiple awards.

The evening also celebrated the future of the industry with the Student of the Year award, which was presented to Jazz King. The junior copywriter impressed with a unique concept for a reusable coffin, aptly named the Coffin Cosy.
