The Renmark Riverfront will come to life with colour this July, as Winter Glow returns these school holidays, bringing an evening of lights, fire, music and family-friendly entertainment to the Riverland.
Taking place on Saturday, July 4th from 4pm to 9pm, the free community event will transform the riverfront, inviting locals and visitors to rug up and embrace the cooler season.
Throughout the evening, families will have a chance to create and decorate their own glowing lanterns before exploring the illuminated riverfront. Plus, there will be a silent disco bringing the party, giant lawn games and face painting, offering plenty of entertainment for younger visitors. There will also be experienced fire performers lighting up the riverfront with a series of displays throughout the evening, creating a dramatic backdrop against the Murray River.
Live music from After Dark Entertainment will provide the soundtrack for the event, and food vendors, warming fire buckets and refreshments from the Sip ‘n’ Tow Bar will make sure guests can settle in and make a night of it.
The event continues a growing calendar of winter activations in Renmark Paringa, designed to encourage people to get out and enjoy the region during the cooler months.
Renmark Paringa Mayor Peter Hunter shared, “Winter can be a quieter time of year, which is why events like Winter Glow are so important. They provide an opportunity for people to get out, connect with one another and enjoy our beautiful riverfront in a different way.”
The event follows the success of Winter Wine Down earlier this month and forms part of a broader effort to activate public spaces and create memorable experiences for both locals and visitors.
“Winter Glow continues to create opportunities for our community to come together during the cooler months and enjoy shared experiences with family and friends,” added Mayor Hunter. “Council is proud to support events that strengthen community connection, activate our public spaces and provide opportunities for residents and visitors to experience everything our region has to offer.”
No tickets are required, and with glowing lanterns, fire twirlers, music, food and a riverside setting, Winter Glow is shaping up to be one of the Riverland’s most magical winter events.
