Celebrating 30 years this year, WOMADelaide Festival will return to botanic park, with patrons required to be Covid vaccinated to attend. The event will return to its traditional seven-stage format in the picturesque surrounds of Adelaide’s Botanic Park for its 30th anniversary celebration from 11-14 March 2022.

Under their duty of care plan, unvaccinated festival goers will be unable to attend, requiring to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19, with presenting a recent negative covid result insufficient as proof.

“While the ongoing international border restrictions mean that the program will showcase predominantly Australia-based artists, festival-goers can still expect to discover the diverse, global music flavours for which WOMADelaide is renowned”, said Director, Ian Scobie.

“Since the first event as part of the 1992 Adelaide Festival, WOMADelaide has evolved into one of Australia’s leading large-scale outdoor festivals of music, arts, dance and immersive discovery.  We are delighted to confirm that next year’s festival will be held in its traditional multi-stage format in Botanic Park”.

“Over three decades, WOMADelaide has presented an extraordinary range of eclectic cultural experiences both on stage and throughout the lush surrounds of Botanic Park.  In the coming weeks we will reveal the first glimpse of the 2022 program, which will bring together past festival favourites and artists performing with us for the first time, in a fitting celebration of 30 years.

Premier of South Australia Steven Marshall said it was terrific to see the return of the much-loved WOMADelaide festival.

“WOMADelaide is an iconic event that all South Australians are proud of, and one that has given countless fond memories to people of all ages across the nation.

“I am thrilled to hear this news and have no doubt that the festival’s 30th birthday back in Botanic Park will be a truly memorable occasion for artists and audiences alike.” WOMADELAIDE, 11-14 March, Botanic Park, Adelaide, South Australia
