Reading Revolution | August 25

Join St Raphael’s School for an engaging, high-impact evening designed to reignite a love of reading in children and families.
Designed for families with children from toddlers through to Year 6, the 90-minute experience will see children become storytellers themselves through age-tailored workshops featuring theatrical storytelling, favourite-book sharing, book swapping and collaborative story creation.
Children will help create a brand-new story from beginning to end, bring it to life and receive a copy to take home, while families will also pick up simple ideas for continuing reading and storytelling at home.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – 25th Anniversary | August 28

Celebrate 25 years of magic with a special screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on August 28th from 6pm to 8:30pm at Capri Theatre. Head back to Hogwarts and relive Harry’s first journey into the wizarding world, from discovering he’s a wizard to boarding the Hogwarts Express and meeting his new friends.

SANFLW Grand Final | August 29

The biggest game of the SANFLW season is set to take over Alberton Oval this Saturday, with two of South Australia’s top women’s football sides battling it out for the 2026 premiership.
The SANFLW Grand Final will kick off at 4:10pm, giving footy fans the chance to catch the season-deciding clash live and see who will lift the premiership cup.

Murray Bridge Glows 2026 | August 29

Rug up and head to Murray Bridge for a magical night of fire, light and winter festivities when Murray Bridge Glows returns to Diamond Park on Saturday, August 29th. Running from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, the free event will transform the park into a glowing wonderland with fire and light performances, installations and live entertainment. Families can cosy up around the fires, dance at the silent disco, enjoy live music from The Illuminated Angels, The Bait Fridge and Sun of Africa, and take a horse and carriage ride to see Murray Bridge lit up at night.

Gawler Show | August 29 – 30

Taking over the Gawler Showgrounds on Saturday, August 29th and Sunday, August 30th, South Australia’s largest regional show will once again bring together everything from cattle and agricultural displays to Sideshow Alley, showbags, local makers and more than 3,000 exhibits.

Kids go free to Adelaide Zoo | August 1 – 31

Throughout August, children aged up to 14 can enter Adelaide Zoo for free as part of the Giant Pandas’ birthday celebrations. Valid from August 1st to 31st, the offer gives families the chance to see more than 200 species from Australia and around the world. Free tickets can be booked online or collected from the admission window on the day.
Kids under 14 are free with an adult ticket.
