Adelaide Fringe showcases world-first Smart Doll Exhibition raising awareness for women’s health

Japanese fashion icon Smart Dolls, set to raise awareness for women’s health in world premiere exhibition at Fringe.

Adelaide is gearing up for a groundbreaking showcase that intertwines the elegance of art with the critical cause of women’s health at this year’s Adelaide Fringe. The exclusive, upcoming exhibition, featuring a world-first display of Smart Dolls as health professionals, promises an unprecedented visual feast that goes beyond mere aesthetics to touch upon the significant theme of promoting women’s health awareness and education.

Michael Shrapnel, an esteemed Adelaide photographer and dedicated Registered Nurse, extends an exclusive invitation to an event that stands out for its creativity and purpose.

Smart Dolls, the 60 cm tall fashion icon from Japan, designed by Danny Choo’s creative studio, will be visiting Adelaide landmarks during the exhibition, including Stamford Plaza Adelaide, St Marys Dental Care, Flinders University and a South Australian hospital.

This pioneering exhibition is not only a feast for the eyes but a beacon of philanthropy, with artwork sales directly supporting Flinders Foundation and Flinders University. It’s also a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts, health professionals, and the broader community to witness a blend of fashion, photography, and healthcare advocacy in a way never before seen.

The dolls, captured in meticulously crafted photographs by Michael Shrapnel, are portrayed attending the inaugural International Women’s Health Conference, engaging in laboratory work, promoting health education, and even gracing the glamourous Gala Charity Ball at Stamford Plaza Adelaide.

Marked as a 2024 Fringe Highlight under the theme ‘Shows for a good cause’, this exhibition is tailored for those who appreciate the arts, support women’s health initiatives, and seek to experience something truly innovative. Whether you’re an art fan, a health professional, or someone who champions women’s health, this exhibition offers a unique intersection of interests that promises to enlighten, entertain, and inspire.

The Smart Doll Art Exhibition is a celebration of the vital role of health education and the collective effort to raise awareness of women’s health issues and invites Fringe-goers to be part of a movement that views art as a powerful medium for change, awareness and support. Don’t miss the chance to witness this exceptional event that sets a new benchmark for exhibitions with a purpose.
