After years of pleading for a local coffee jaunt, Kingston Park residents can breathe a sigh of relief as Nest Kiosk officially opened their doors this week.

The team behind Brighton’s beloved The Seller Door and The Local Canteen have been working tirelessly on the space to bring the beachside suburb its new local, with owner Tom Rodger saying he ‘jumped’ at the opportunity to take over the space.

“The location is amazing. It’s literally five steps to the sand. These kind of opportunities don’t come up very often so we’re really excited about that,” he said.

“It’s been literally years in the making, the community had been wanting a place like this to call their own.

“We’re going to focus on serving specialty coffee, quality food sourced from local suppliers and producers, and a selection of local wines. However, given the beachside location, we’re going to be including a lot of your classic beach kiosk offerings. We also have our brunch menu available 7 days a week.”

The modern structure, facing Brighton jetty will quickly become one of the most enviable and instragramable locations in Adelaide. Two sites within Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park have been removed to accommodate the new building and allow for a proper integration of the kiosk into the caravan park itself.

The architecturally designed kiosk will be able to seat 40 guests comfortably indoors 42 outdoors, offering a delightful experience whether you choose to dine in or grab your order to go.

The $1.4m project was constructed by Largs North company BluBuilt Constructions and completed the build back in February.

Tom said the design of the space allows diners to stop and take in the views or to grab a cup to go on their morning walk.

“We have these two windows that open and allows us to do take away for the beach, it will be a hybrid offering if people want more of a casual on the go type food. If people want to sit and have a substantial meal, dine-in experience we will be there for that too.

“It’s going to be a really special spot for a sunset drink, it’s just an amazing opportunity.”
