A former neighbourhood milk bar in Adelaide’s west is coming full circle, with Mylk Bar preparing to open its fifth venue directly opposite Woodville Park Railway Station.
The new cafe will take over 22 Belmore Terrace, bringing the familiar Mylk Bar offering of coffee, breakfast and lunch to the growing suburban pocket.
Over the years, the building has lived several lives, beginning as a traditional milk bar before becoming a butcher and, more recently, a cafe.
Now, it will return to its delicatessen roots when owner Amin Ayoubi opens the latest location of Mylk Bar in early September.
The new venue follows the recent opening of Mylk Bar Hindmarsh, which brought soccer-inspired details, pre-game drinks and post-match celebrations to a site near Coopers Stadium.
For Amin, Woodville Park forms part of a broader plan to take Mylk Bar beyond the CBD and into Adelaide’s suburban neighbourhoods.
“The goal was always to expand into the suburbs, rather than only being in the city,” Amin said.
“People might visit us while they’re working in the city, but when they’re at home, they can still enjoy the same offering at their local Mylk Bar.”
The location happens to be perfectly suited to commuters. With the cafe sitting just metres from the Woodville Park train platform, it gives train travellers a spot to get out of the winter chill before boarding.
After spending time at the site during the past few months, Amin said he’d been surprised by the number of people waiting for trains during the early mornings.
“It’s directly outside the train station, making it easy for someone to grab a quick coffee before getting on the train,” he said.
The cafe is also be within walking distance for locals and parents doing a morning drop-off at the nearby school.
While the previous business operated as a much-loved simple cafe, Mylk Bar plans to introduce a more extensive cooked menu spanning breakfast and lunch.
“We’re taking what was previously a simple cafe offering and introducing a proper cooked menu for breakfast and lunch,” Amin said.
“We’ll make sure we have the signature dishes that we serve across all our venues and, of course, good coffee.”

Inside, the existing cafe has been refreshed with Mylk Bar’s familiar colours, while changes to both the front and back of house will help the venue accommodate its expanded offering.
The fit-out includes bench seating and larger tables suited to groups, while big windows along the front and side of the building will bring plenty of natural light into the space. Outside, existing vines and greenery add to the venue’s warm, neighbourhood feel.
Customers can expect Mylk Bar’s signature dishes alongside a cooked breakfast and lunch menu, with good coffee remaining at the centre of the offering. While a liquor licence will not be in place when the doors first open, Amin hinted that this could change in the future.
For now, the focus is on introducing Mylk Bar to the Woodville Park community and becoming a regular part of locals’ routines.
“We’re excited about getting the doors open, hopefully in early September.”
