South Australians are being urged to stay alert tonight as SA State Emergency Service crews respond to hundreds of storm-related call-outs, with live flood advice issued for Patawalonga and damaging winds forecast for parts of the Lower South East.
SA SES said volunteers had responded to more than 370 requests for assistance since Wednesday, after wet and windy weather moved across the state.
A Flood Advice message is currently in place for Patawalonga, with localised flooding possible around Patawalonga Lake until 9pm tonight.
According to SA SES, inflows from recent rain have significantly raised lake levels, while this evening’s forecast high tide is likely to limit discharge from the lake. Any additional rain over the next few hours could result in localised flooding in the warning area.

- Follow your Emergency Plan now
- Prepare your family and home for flooding in your area
- Move items of value to a safe place.
- If it is safe to do so, you should ensure drains and gutters are clear.
- For SES assistance phone 132 500. If the matter is life threatening call 000 (triple zero).
Impacts in your area:
- Be aware that floodwaters may rise rapidly and are likely to be fast moving.
- Never allow children to play in or near floodwater.
- You should never walk, ride or drive through floodwater.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds for parts of the Lower South East district, with coastal areas including Robe and Millicent potentially affected.
Damaging west to southwesterly winds averaging 50 to 65km/h, with peak gusts around 90km/h, are likely over the Lower South East coast this evening before easing on Friday morning.
