If you’re looking for a school holiday activity that is just as fun for the adults as it is for the kids, then Route 9 Distillery has the perfect solution for you.

While you wet your whistle on some Square 1 gin, Adelaide Hills whisky or rum, the kids will be able to decorate and eat their own COOKIES, courtesy of Wee Bites.

Owner of Wee Bites, Cisca Teodoro, says Route 9 Distillery decided to collaborate after tasting the wonderful create-your-own cookies at boutique Coonawarra winery, Hollick Estate.

“I’m based in Mount Gambier, and I’ve been making these fabulous cookies for a number of years now. I supply to local businesses, including Hollick, the winery,” says Cisca.

“They [Hollick] got to know my business and thought it was a great idea! They included my cookies as part of their kids meal offering for a while. I have children myself and love it, as they can get really restless when out and about.

“I was supplying Hollick for a while, but that’s when Rob from Route 9 Distillery found me and thought it was a great idea. They approached me and that’s where it all started.”

The cookies contain gluten and dairy, but other than that, they are very allergy friendly. There’s a great range of designs the kids can choose from, including unicorns, rainbows, cupcakes, monsters, cars, robots, and rockets.

The small batch cookies are made fresh to order and are free from preservatives and artificial flavours.

Rob from Route 9 Distillery said even the adults enjoy painting a cookie or two!

“I loved the biscuits – kept my kids occupied while we had dinner in the Coonawarra and the bonus was it was dessert too!” said Rob.

“We’ll also have kids packs for sale at Route 9 which contain a Juice pop top, popcorn, sultanas, milky way and a cheese and crackers.”

If painting isn’t the kids’ cup of tea, Route 9 Distillery also has a bunch of arcade games at the venue.

“There are 60 different arcade games to choose from. Think games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, 1942, Donkey Kong and Centipede to name a few. You select the game you want to play, then away you go!” he said.

“It’s a time waster for any kid and for adults as well. It’s complimentary to any visitor to the distillery.”

Be sure to explore Route 9 Distillery during the school holidays.
