Move over Mexican, Japanese is the new cuisine taking over Adelaide right now. There’s been a bunch of new Japanese restaurants popping up across town, one of these that we’re loving the sound of is right now is Tuno Izakaya. After opening their doors in February, they’re already creating a buzz around their delicious homemade ramen and Japanese sake.
Owner and General Manager, Bin Shen, creates mouth-watering traditional Japanese food inspired by his previous cooking experiences and many trips to Japan. Previously having been a chef at the Edinburgh Hotel for many years, he was able to build up his knowledge of all things food while at the same time frequently travelling to Japan to learn more cooking techniques and continuously build on his skills.
On the menu you’ll find a section for Ramen with homemade noodles, and a Yakitori and Robatayakai menu with a range of traditional charcoal grilled skewers. These particular specialties are favourites of Bin Shen and he knows that they’re something the people of Adelaide are also loving right now.
This place has an interior to match it’s great food, with everything having been designed by Bin Shen and his business partner themselves. Reflective of Japanese traditional dining mixed with a modern Australian vibe, everything feels very relaxing and comfortable.
This place must be put on the list as the next spot to visit for all foodies far and wide… Or just for anyone who’s craving their next bowl of ramen.
