An over-50s lifestyle resort is coming to the Fleurieu Peninsula after council approval. The resort is set to include an extensive list of premier facilities and 315 homes across 15.5 hectares in Encounter Bay.

The OceanView Lifestyle Resort is set to be a truly luxurious resort with indoor facilities including a heated swimming pool, gym, cinema, golf simulator, ten-pin bowling alley and a leisure lounge. There will be even more outside with manicured bowling greens, bocce and pickleball courts, mini golf, bicycle and walking paths, community gardens and a central park.

After working with Southern Lifestyle Villages Australia for over a decade, Gosia, Design Manager at Aspex Building Designers explains that the project has been underway for the past few years.

“We are the designers, so we work with the architectural part of the project and help design the houses and facilities. We started this project with the client about two years ago, if not more. Although, we have been working with the client for over ten years, first on the Lakeside Lifestyle Resort in Goolwa,” shared Gosia.

With the new OceanView project, accessibility is integral to the design.

“Obviously accessibility is a big part of the project and with the age group, we consider it throughout all aspects of the design process. Luxury and comfort of living is so important,” Gosia said.

“There are common facilities, a library, cafe and eating areas, a swimming pool and indoor and outdoor exercise spaces. A lot has gone into the design of the indoor activities. There will be pool tables and an indoor golf simulator, it will be very luxurious.”

Along with the state-of-the-art communal facilities, the homes have been designed with luxury in mind.

“Most, if not all of the houses have a garage and room for golf buggies. Everything has been designed so if residents prefer not to bike or walk, they can take a golf buggy,” explains Gosia.

The homes will range in size and price and can be customised to meet the resident’s needs.

Stage 1 homes are now available for purchase beginning at $595,000 and are expected to be built and move-in ready by the end of 2025.
