Plane Tree Performing Arts needs you!

Do you want to be a part of a new community theatre company that is coming to the Unley area?

Plane Tree Performing Arts wants to hear from people who would like to be involved in a new community theatre company, whether as a performer, as part of the artistic and production teams, or in administrative positions. Previous experience would be greatly valued, but it is not a prerequisite. Enthusiastic newcomers, who are willing to learn, are most welcome.

A group of local actors, directors and musicians are interested in forming a community based performing arts organisation for adults in the City of Unley. Plane Tree Performing Arts is interested in creating a fun, welcoming and creative environment in which people of all cultural and artistic backgrounds can come together to create quality music and drama for their community.

At this early stage, Plane Tree Performing Arts is trying to gauge the interest of members of the performing arts and wider community of the City of Unley and surrounds. People who are interested in being part of the steering committee (even if you’ve never done it before) are very welcome. Plane Tree Performing Arts is eager to have representation of all sectors our community onstage, backstage and in administration.

The initial members of the steering committee comprise a musical director, a director and an actor. Between them they have over 80 years of experience in the performing arts, but three people, no matter how keen, can’t be a community. People with music and theatre experience, love and enthusiasm for the arts are welcome.

A public meeting will be held at the Unley Citizens Centre, 18 Arthur Street, Unley at 7.30pm on Sunday, 30 January 2011.
