Growing up in Adelaide meant two things: Making yourself sick on Bertie Beetle show bags from the Royal Adelaide Show and birthdays at Plaster Fun House.
Speak to any Millennial raised in our fine city and you can bet your bottom dollar they spent one or two Saturdays during their childhood years unleashing their inner Picasso at the Wayville institution.
Almost 17 years later and Plaster Fun House is still the ultimate choice for kids to celebrate their birthdays but the offerings have levelled up from what most of us can remember.

While the activity remains the same – decorating plaster in your own unique way to create an absolute masterpiece – plaster painting is no longer reserved just for kids.
“We’ve seen more and more adults get on board and want to explore their creative side,” says owner, Dianna Barker.
“A lot of adults come in and realise how fun it is and it brings back a lot of memories from their childhood. I think due to the world situation over the past few years, people have turned to art to relax. It just helps you to forget about what else is going on.”

With the Thursday and Friday night walk-ins becoming increasingly busier, Dianna introduced a new, monthly, adults-only event that have a more ‘mature’ plaster theme coupled with gourmet grazing platters from Creating Grazing to fuel the imagination.
These mouth-watering platters are also available for the parents of birthday party attendees so you can sit back and indulge while the kids make their masterpieces.
Plaster Fun House makes it easier than ever to organise a birthday party, which is probably why they’re so popular.
Two customised birthday packages are now available to choose from both of which include a personal host to guide the creativity, a plaster mould of choice to decorate and lolly bags for each artist.
The second package includes a birthday cake and party snacks meaning you really have nothing to worry about except what platter you’re going to get for yourself.
So, whether you have a little one with a passion for paint or you’re due for a night of creativity with your friends, hit those nostalgic feels with a trip to Plaster Fun House.
