The Adelaide businesses helping those feeling the pinch in lockdown

A number of local businesses are reaching out to those experiencing food insecurity, ensuring no one has to worry about where their next meal is coming from in lockdown.

A number of generous South Australian businesses are helping those experiencing food insecurity throughout lockdown, such as those who might have lost their main source of income through the stay at home orders.

Passionate that no one should have to experience the stress and anxiety of not knowing where your family’s next meal is coming from, these incredible local businesses are creating a number of ways where you can receive a package of home-cooked meals or groceries.

A number of the businesses are offering collection or delivery options, with no judgement and no questions asked, so you can have one less thing to worry about through the lockdown.

Chefs on Wheels

Chefs on Wheels provides ready-to-eat dishes from some of Australia’s best chefs which include handy boxes of frozen meals to defrost, ready to eat at a time most suitable to you.

The company is offering anyone in SA’s lockdown to send them a DM if they’re experiencing food insecurity, and the expert team at Chef’s on Wheels will be in touch to arrange an easy collection of a curated food package.

Whether you’re struggling to meet a pay check, or you’re running out of groceries or household essentials, Our Food Projects’s incredible team are there to lend a helping hand during these unprecedented times.

The Café has a plentiful menu including favourites such as hash browns, fried chicken sandos and warming winter soups.

Meals on Wheels

Continuing to support the South Australian community, the dedicated team of volunteers at Meals on Wheels are providing three nutritious meals a day to some of the state’s most vulnerable people.

Braving the cold temperatures and rising to the new challenges of lockdown, the Meals on Wheels team will deliver both hot and frozen meals to individuals in need across the community, wanting to ensure that no one goes hungry throughout lockdown.

Anyone can arrange for someone to receive food from the Meals on Wheels team and you can register your interest to receive meals here.
