Corryton Burge Bar returns to the CBD as hub for Adelaide Cabaret Festival

For two weeks, Corryton Burge will take over Festival Plaza as the mecca for this year’s event offering an elegant space for before and after shows.

Corryton Burge is back at this year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival with a star-studded line-up of award-winning wines ready to be savoured from a bespoke outdoor bar in the heart of the Adelaide Festival Centre’s Festival Plaza.

Adelaide Cabaret Festival fans and the general public can expect a rousing encore in 2022, according to Amelia Burge who, with winemaker brother Trent Burge, are Adelaide Cabaret Festival’s wine partner and widely regarded as a class act by wine lovers across the country and beyond.

“We have a vibrant location for our Corryton Burge Bar this year,” she said.

“It is the focal point in the Festival Plaza, in the middle of a beautiful, large open marquee, with a selection of our fine wines on pour.

“We encourage everyone to experience this quintessential Adelaide event and enjoy the crème de la crème of cabaret performing artists, along with our Corryton Burge Barossa Shiraz, Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris and highly acclaimed The Brigadier Cabernet Sauvignon.”

The 2022 Adelaide Cabaret Festival runs from Friday, June 10 to Saturday, June 25, with the Corryton Burge Bar open each night of the festival from 5pm until late.

It celebrates the Burge family’s long association and support of the arts with a styling extravaganza of sophistication, where rich timber, rattan, white furniture, a splash of neon lights and hanging foliage reinforce the allure.

Expanding on the new location, Amelia noted that the Corryton Burge Bar is a neighbour of the popular cabaret performance venue, The Famous Spiegeltent, where the late-night club The Piña Colada Room will come alive. It sits in close proximity to a delicious selection of food trucks and is easily accessible from both King William Road and the entire Riverbank precinct.

“The Festival Plaza is going to be the mecca of Cabaret this year. We’re the ideal spot for patrons, performers, and the public to happily immerse themselves in the experience and create lasting memories while savouring our red, white, and sparkling wines in a setting oozing everything cabaret,” she added.

The wines will be on offer across all Adelaide Cabaret Festival performance venues, with the likes of Dunstan Playhouse, Cabaret Lounge Bar on the Riverdeck, The Banquet Room and Her Majesty’s Theatre all serving Corryton Burge red and white wines and the Amelia Burge sparkling range.

The Corryton Burge wine partnership with Adelaide Cabaret Festival continues the iconic winemaking family’s longstanding involvement with the arts, a recent initiative being the philanthropic support of Her Majesty’s Theatre.

The family has a range of commemorative wines on pour at this historic venue all year round, where $5 from every bottle consumed is donated to the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation to support its ongoing preservation.

All Corryton Burge wines can be purchased direct from the Underground Barossa cellar door, online or for stockists, from Australian distributor, Oatley Fine Wine Merchants.

The family’s unforgettable food and wine tasting experience is also available at Underground Barossa in Tanunda.

Corryton Burge Underground Barossa Cellar Door is located at 161 Murray St, Tanunda 5352
