South Australia’s screen industry is celebrating after two locally made, South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) supported productions earned nominations at the 2026 TV Week Logie Awards.

Medical drama RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service has been nominated for Best Drama Program, while stars Rob Collins and Stephen Peacocke have each received nominations for Best Lead Actor. Comedy series Top End Bub has also been recognised, earning a nomination for Best Scripted Comedy Program.

RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service follows the lives of doctors and nurses working for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, bringing the challenges of delivering emergency healthcare across regional and remote Australia to the screen.

Filmed in and around the RFDS Broken Hill base, the series showcases South Australia’s iconic red dirt landscape while working alongside the real-life operations of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The production has also involved members of the Broken Hill community as extras.

After premiering on the Seven Network in 2021, the series returned for a second season in 2023, with its third season premiering in October last year.

Meanwhile, Top End Bub was nominated for Best Scripted Comedy Program. It is the sequel to the movie Top End Wedding, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

Created by South Australians Miranda Tapsell and Joshua Tyler, the eight-part Prime Video series sees Tapsell and Gwilym Lee reprise their roles as Lauren and Ned as they navigate parenthood with their young daughter, who is affectionately known as ‘Bub’.

Production took place across Adelaide, including at the SAFC’s Adelaide Studios, and Darwin, with support from both the South Australian Film Corporation and Screen Territory.

Winners of the 2026 TV Week Logie Awards will be announced on Channel 7 at 7.00pm AEST Sunday 16 August. Tune in to see who wins!
