Crowne Plaza Adelaide Judged Australia’s Top Tourism Development

Hines Property’s Crowne Plaza Adelaide development has been honoured by Australia’s property industry, with the hotel judged the nation’s best tourism and leisure development.

The landmark Hindmarsh Square hotel was formally acknowledged at the 2012 Property Council of Australia Innovation & Excellence Awards announced in Sydney on Saturday night.

It was the only South Australian development to receive an award.

Hines Property Managing Director James Hines said the award is a fantastic endorsement for Crowne Plaza Adelaide and the innovative work of Hines Property.

“Since Crowne Plaza Adelaide opened two years ago, it has welcomed more than 250,000 guests and become a favourite among local, interstate and international guests,” said Mr Hines.

In 2010, Hines Property completed the 20 Hindmarsh Square development which included two unique towers, one being the 15-level, 308-room Crowne Plaza Adelaide hotel and the other a 14-level luxury residential apartment tower.

The Property Council of Australia award is the latest for the development, which last year won the Accommodation Association of Australia’s Best Deluxe Accommodation Award following its 2010 South Australian Tourism Award for Best New Tourism Development. In 2010, Crowne Plaza Adelaide was also honoured by the Urban Development Institute of Australia as the Best Master Planned Development and by the Master Builders Association as the Best Residential Development in South Australia.
