Haigh’s Chocolates is commencing development on a new production facility in the next few months, as part of a 10-year strategy to double production of SA’s favourite iconic choccies.

The new facility is set to be constructed in Salisbury South, joining a bunch of other high profile food and beverage manufacturers, like Bega, Bickford’s, and Coca Cola Amatil.

The new facility with include a 9000sq/m facility for new production lines and a 6000sq/m facility for online fulfilment and warehousing.

When the new chocolate factory opens, Haigh’s Chocolates will be doubling its chocolate-making facility, which is good news for all the SA chocolate lovers out there!

Haigh’s Chocolates Chief Executive, Alister Haigh said work is scheduled to commence in coming months with the plans currently underway.

“For more than 100 years, we have been creating first-class premium quality, bean-to-bar chocolate. Our loyal customers continue to support us through the purchasing of our artisan products sold across our stores nationally as well as online,” Mr Haigh said.

“We want to ensure that we can continue to deliver our great tasting chocolate to more Australians alongside our memorable in-store experience as well as supporting a strong online offering.

“In recent years there has certainly been strong demand for online purchases. We want to continue to meet that demand as efficiently as possible to ensure a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

“We look forward to sharing several exciting announcements in the coming months and years as this
development unfolds and grants us the ability to deliver more chocolate to more people.”

Haigh’s currently has 22 retail stores across Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra. Once the facility is up and running, the company plans to open more stores, as well as significantly grow its online presence.

As well as doubling the production capacity of bean-to-bar chocolate per year, Haigh’s also intends to create a bunch of new employment opportunities within the warehouse, chocolate processing, online, and new retail stores.

In addition to Haigh’s iconic Beehive Corner, the company currently has seven other stores in SA, located in the Adelaide Central Market, the Adelaide Arcade, Burnside Village, Jetty Road Glenelg, Westfield Marion, the Visitor Centre at Parkside, and The Grove at Golden Grove.
