Thousands of north-eastern Adelaide commuters will need to use temporary bus stops when the Tea Tree Plaza Interchange closes for almost three weeks to complete major resurfacing works.
The interchange will close from 6pm on Friday, August 14 and remain inaccessible until the end of Thursday, September 3.
It will reopen in time for the first scheduled bus service on Friday, September 4.
While passengers will not be able to access the interchange during the closure, all bus services will continue to operate. Temporary bus stops will be established along Smart Road for services travelling to and from Tea Tree Plaza.
Buses that would usually travel along the O-Bahn between Tea Tree Plaza and Paradise Interchange will instead operate via the surrounding road network, meaning passengers may need to allow additional time for their journeys.
The Tea Tree Plaza Park n Ride will remain open throughout the works, allowing commuters to continue parking nearby before making their way to the temporary stops.
Paradise and Klemzig interchanges will also continue to operate as normal during the closure.
The shutdown is required to complete the final stages of a resurfacing project at the busy transport hub.
The works are intended to maintain the safety, reliability and longevity of the interchange, which is used by thousands of passengers travelling between the north-eastern suburbs and Adelaide each day.
Once completed, the upgraded surface is expected to provide passengers with a smoother journey while helping ensure the interchange remains in good condition for years to come.
Tea Tree Plaza is one of the busiest stops along the Adelaide O-Bahn network, connecting passengers with services travelling through Paradise and Klemzig before reaching the Adelaide CBD.
Passengers who regularly transfer between services at the interchange are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the temporary Smart Road stops before travelling.
Adelaide Metro has thanked customers for their patience and understanding while the works are completed.
The closure begins at 6pm on Friday, August 14, with the interchange reopening for the first service on Friday, September 4.
