The Adelaide Hills will once again come alive with music, food, markets and big ideas when the Uraidla Sustainability Fair returns this March.
Set among the gum trees at the Uraidla Showgrounds, the community celebration brings together locals, environmental experts and curious visitors for a day dedicated to practical sustainability and grassroots environmental action.
Running from 10am to 4pm on Sunday March 15, the fair mixes thoughtful conversations with a relaxed festival atmosphere. Expect live music, more than 40 sustainable market stalls, family activities and plenty of good food, all designed to help people connect with their community while exploring ways to live more sustainably.

Food vendors will keep visitors fuelled throughout the day, with options including authentic Spanish paella from Oranaise, coffee and sweet treats from Cart & Soul, gluten-free and vegan brownies from Four Seeds Brownies, and locally loved ice creams and sorbets from Hokey Pokey. Baltic Fine Foods will also be serving up European-inspired bites.
Music will roll across the showgrounds all day, kicking off with Adelaide bassist Tasha Stevens at 10am. The Uraidla Concert Band follows at 12:45pm, before guitarists Mike Bevan and Alain Valodze take the stage with their flamenco, jazz and Brazilian influences. Wrapping up the day is The Wonky Tonk Band, fresh from the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Beyond the music and markets, the fair’s program of conversations will dive into topics like composting, food waste systems, draught sealing, home battery rebates and restoring habitat for wildlife.
A panel discussion Nutrients, Water and Healthy Landscapes will explore how fertilisers and nutrient pollution impact waterways and ecosystems. Speakers include Professor Andy Lowe, Tara Ingerson from the Environment Protection Authority, ReBird the Ranges coordinator Wendy Telfer and Sixth Creek Catchment chair Ira Thorstensson.
Families are well catered for, with a sandpit, Kinder Gym and Animals Anonymous activities keeping younger visitors entertained throughout the day.
Entry is $5 for adults, $10 for families and free for children under 12.
