As August comes to a close and we finally head into spring, it’s time to look back on the fantastic businesses Adelaide welcomed this month. From pop-up clothing stores and patisseries to cult burger spots and ramen restaurants, here are 13 great new spots to check out!
An Nam Quan
One of Adelaide’s favourite family-run Vietnamese restaurants is heading east.
After building a loyal following in Hawthorn, An Nam Quan is opening its second location today at 236 Kensington Road in Marryatville and bringing with it an expansive menu of house made Vietnamese dishes and an extensive specialty drinks menu.

Antidote Kitchen
Clare Valley favourite Antidote Kitchen & Bar has officially landed in North Adelaide, and after a week of finding its feet on O’Connell Street, we caught up with owner Sunny Mehrok to see how the city debut is shaping up.
Sunny explained that rather than throwing open the doors with a fanfare, the team has opted for a slow, steady start; dialling in the systems and making sure service runs smoothly before turning up the volume.

Dino’s
Located at 438 Henley Beach Road, Dino’s Lockleys is a more polished take on the beloved brand, swapping the hustle and bustle of the city for a relaxed neighbourhood feel where breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between are on the menu.
That means you can start your day there with a Greek-inspired breakfast before returning at night for a late dinner and cocktail.

Fayt the Label
Adelaide fashion lovers can finally get their hands on viral Australian label Fayt the Label this week, with the brand revealing exactly where and when its highly anticipated city pop-up will open.
After months of teasing its arrival, Fayt has confirmed its Adelaide store has opened at 257A Rundle Street, giving shoppers three months to shop the brand’s famously inclusive collection in person.

Gang Gang
After years of popping up at festivals, flipping burgers from food trucks and building a cult following across Adelaide, Gang Gang has officially opened the doors to its flagship CBD home.
Following a busy soft-launch weekend, the new Holland Street venue officially welcomed its first customers on August 6th. If the early response is anything to go by, it could quickly become one of the city’s favourite burger spots.

LaMala Patisserie
If you’ve found yourself heading north for LaMala Patisserie’s pillowy mochi or indulgent cheesecakes, your sweet treat run just got a whole lot closer to home.
The Adelaide dessert spot, which opened at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza back in May, has officially opened at Westfield Marion, bringing its handcrafted Japanese-inspired treats to one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations.

Merk’s Grill
Having grown up in the kebab industry five brothers, Annass, Ahmad, Malik, Abdul-Karim and Omar, watched their father bring a string of kebab shops to life, cooking up a storm and inspiring them to eventually follow in his footsteps.
In 2023, one of the brothers took a leap of faith and opened the first Merk’s Grill at Clovelly Park at just 20 years old. Now, with the support of his brothers and parents, the family has opened its second location in Morphett Vale.

Noya Lounge
Noya Lounge isn’t just a wine bar, nor a pizza parlour or brunch spot with the girls. It’s all that under one roof on the famous foodie strip that is O’Connell Street in Adelaide’s north.
Open for a massive 17 hours a day, from 7am to 12am, Noya Lounge does breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and even wood-fired pizza.

TaiNam
TaiNam is the creation of Hugo and Hannah, two former private chefs with extensive experience designing intimate dining experiences. Its name combines the places closest to them, ‘Tai’ from Taiwan and ‘Nam’ from Vietnam, reflecting their respective backgrounds and the cultures that have shaped their approach to food.
Now, they’re bringing that experience into a permanent home, with an Asian-influenced restaurant taking shape along Port Road in Thebarton.

The Little Pita Co.
What makes Adelaide’s newest cafe, Little Pita Co, special isn’t just the handmade pastries coming out of its tiny Wyatt Street kitchen.
It’s the generations of family history being folded into every golden delicacy.
What began as a mother-daughter project for Ines Nasup and her mum Jasminka has now grown into a three-generation family affair, with Ines’ 21-year-old daughter joining them in the kitchen to learn the traditional art of making Bosnian pita.

Toriok
There are only a few things more satisfying than stumbling across a hole-in-the-wall ramen shop, ordering a steaming bowl and realising you’ve just found your new favourite spot. For many Adelaide ramen lovers, Toriok has been that place.
What started as a low-key pop-up on Eliza Street quickly developed a cult following, with queues, regulars and plenty of word-of-mouth praise helping convince the team to turn the temporary setup into a permanent restaurant. Now, the 16-seat venue is officially here to stay, and it’s getting a few serious upgrades along the way.

Toros Steakhouse
A really good steak is pretty hard to beat. Tender in the middle, charred around the edges, cooked just right and packed with flavour, it is the kind of meal that can be deceptively simple but difficult to perfect.
While there are plenty of places to order a steak, finding that balance of quality beef, fire and careful cooking is another matter.
Mount Barker’s new steakhouse, Toros, is putting those elements front and centre at its Morphett Street venue, bringing a dedicated steakhouse experience to the Adelaide Hills.

Just months after making its debut on Adelaide’s fashion scene, local label VAN BRUSSEL is entering its next chapter, opening the doors to a new flagship home inside the iconic Adelaide Arcade.
Following a successful launch in Ebenezer Place in 2025, the Australian-made fashion brand – created by SA-born Rachel VAN BRUSSEL – is bringing its signature blend of European-inspired design, contemporary Australian style and slow-fashion philosophy into a permanent retail space from August 13th.
