If you’re a lover of French pastries (and let’s be honest, who isn’t) then you’ll be delighted to know that popular Central Market patisserie, Les Deux Coqs, has opened a brand-new store in the heart of the CBD.
Taking over the space on Rundle Mall where they previously set up as a pop-up store, Les Deux Coqs have dropped a 20ft shipping container from which they’ll be serving up the French treats you know and love from its Central Market location, plus a few newbies, especially for Rundle Mall patrons.
A coconut and Nutella croissant, fresh fruits Danish, salmon tartine and a very special Raclette Tartine are among the new menu additions and join the already incredible and mouth-watering array of sweet and savoury foods.

In a post on their social media, owners Katia Vincon and Bastien Verslype expressed their excitement in opening a second location.
“4 years after opening our first shop in Adelaide Central Market we are extremely happy and proud to open a new shop in another iconic location of Adelaide.
“We are thrilled to open our new doors…and to see your lovely faces!
This couldn’t have happened without YOU so thank you for all your kind words and support.”

“After trading for 4.5 years in the central market and doing the Rundle Mall pop-up last year, we noticed a real interest and need for somewhere for customers to find a place where they can grab a croissant or dessert while shopping or on their way to work,” say Katia.
“This is really common in France with the boulangeries and patisseries but not so much here.”
Katia and Bastien moved to Adelaide from France after a trip in 2012 which saw them notice a croissant-shaped gap in the market and ultimately start what has now one of Adelaide’s most sought-after French food providores.
The pair started out by frequenting the local markets around Adelaide before securing a permanent spot in the Central Market in 2018. You can still catch Les Deux Coqs at the markets, with Bastien and Katia ensuring their devoted customers that the opening of the new shop doesn’t mean they will be forgotten.
The Rundle Mall shop will have more of a focus on pastries over charcuterie products but will have a few fan favourites including the saucisson and glass jars.
You’ll be able to get the classics such as croissants, creme brulee, cannelé and lemon meringue tart but Katia also let us in on a few special extras that are being added to the Rundle menu.
“We are very excited to launch some new products in the pastry section with cruffins, croissant supreme and Danish,” she says.
“We also recently collaborated with a local chocolatier (with Belgian background) to create Chocolate saucisson (salami) which is absolutely divine!”
With options for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a simple snack, Les Deux Coqs is the perfect stop to ‘bake’ your day just that little bit better.
