Superbutter is the latest name to join Burnside Village’s buzzing dining precinct roll-out, bringing with it a vibrant new café experience that’s set to add colour, comfort, and caffeine to the eastern suburbs.
It’s the newest venture from the team behind Mr Chu’s, and will take shape as a Japanese-French inspired patisserie serving up brunch, lunch and dinner when it opens this September.
Expect smooth coffee, and delicate sweets that blend French techniques with bold Japanese flavours. While the full menu remains under wraps for now, Superbutter is going to be a very delicious offering.

It’s all part of a larger transformation at Burnside Village, which has become one of Adelaide’s newest food and lifestyle hotspots. With stylish new restaurants, trend-driven cafés, and international flair, the revamped centre offers premium all-day dining.
Already open and attracting diners is Mr Chu’s Café & Eatery with a brand new location in the village. People are falling in love with the South East Asian-inspired menu and breakfast cocktails.
Project G2 Italian is also on the way, set to become Burnside Village’s flagship restaurant. Promising a slice of la dolce vita, this all-day dining room will serve everything from relaxed breakfasts to elegant dinners, with a menu that celebrates Italian classics done right.
For those after a quick coffee or sweet bite, Rays by OITP is already serving up laid-back charm, crafted by the team from Out In The Paddock. Meanwhile, dumpling lovers can dive into handmade pan-fried and steamed delights at Shanghai Teahouse, and Kin Seafood is plating up pristine sashimi and sushi for something lighter.
Inside the Coco Republic showroom, L’Americano adds a stylish alfresco-inspired café to the mix, blending chic interiors with European hospitality.

And there’s more to come. Also opening in September is 18th Street Hot Pot, expanding its presence with a new Adelaide location that’s perfect for comfort food lovers. Then there’s Sip & Sear, a next-level Korean BBQ experience from the team behind Soonta, bringing boutique vibes and bold flavours to the table.
Rounding out the precinct’s evolution is Elara, a new day spa and wellness destination opening on level one. Designed to be a luxe escape from the everyday, it’s a fitting addition to the village’s elevated new direction.

All of these stunning new venues have been brought to life by Faculty Design, an Adelaide-based studio known for crafting some of the country’s most memorable hospitality and retail interiors.
“We specialise in interior design concepts for the retail and hospitality industry and we’ve worked with clients all across Australia,” says Chloe Lorimer, senior creative at Faculty Design.
“Working on some of the really beautiful new eateries and spaces at the new Burnside Village expansion has been truly wonderful,” she adds.
With clients such as Mr Chu’s, Superbutter, and Sip & Sear under their belt, the team at Faculty has been involved in shaping Burnside’s evolution from the ground up.
“Some of the clients we have worked with for years and to be part of their journey and watch their businesses develop and unfold has been amazing,” Chloe shares.
“We have a team of six designers here in Stepney and it’s been an incredible whole team project working on the design for spaces like Superbutter, Mr Chu’s, Sip & Sear, 18th Street Hot Pot, Açai Affair and Elara.”
With Superbutter and its neighbours firing up their kitchens, Burnside Village is fast becoming one of the city’s most exciting destinations to shop, sip and savour, all under one roof.
