Rundle Mall’s 50th Birthday | September 1 – 6

Adelaide’s most iconic shopping strip is counting down to a major milestone, with Rundle Mall launching a $50,000 gold bullion giveaway ahead of its 50th birthday celebrations this September.

From Monday, July 13th until Sunday, September 6th, shoppers who spend $50 or more at participating Rundle Mall businesses can enter the draw for the chance to win $50,000 worth of gold bullion. A $250 Rundle Mall gift card is also up for grabs every week during the promotion.

The Great Gatsby: A Jazz Ballet Odyssey | September 2 – 6

Coming to Her Majesty’s Theatre this September is the world premiere of The Great Gatsby: A Jazz Ballet Odyssey. This is a brilliant showpiece proudly presented by BIG Live, featuring principal dancers Abbey Hansen and Ervin Zagidullin, and offering a glorious reimagining of Fitzgerald’s timeless classic.

The Royal Adelaide Show | September 5 – 13

The countdown to one of South Australia’s biggest annual events is officially on, with the Royal Adelaide Show bringing nine jam-packed days of rides, showbags, animals, food, competitions and family entertainment to Adelaide this month.

Running from September 5th to 13th at the Adelaide Showground, this year’s Show welcomes new headline attractions alongside much-loved traditions that have made the event a South Australian institution.

AirTouch 500 at The Bend | September 11 – 13

The Supercars endurance race, AirTouch 500, is back this September, bringing three days of family-friendly fun to The Bend.

AirTouch 500 is a 500-kilometre endurance race. As part of the Enduro Cup, this year drivers will tackle the West Circuit, completing 147 laps. This is a slightly shorter track than normal, and it features an exciting 12 turns, giving fans more frequent on-track action. Adding to the fun, this year there will be an opportunity for fans to camp along the pit straight.

City-Bay Fun Run | September 20

The City-Bay Fun Run is back in Adelaide this month, with runners able to choose from the Half Marathon, 12km, 6km, or 3km on September 20th. This iconic race kicks off at different locations: the 12km from the Festival Theatre, the half marathon from Colley Terrace, Glenelg (loops toward the city and back), the 6km from Kurralta Central Shopping Centre on Anzac Highway, and the 3km from The Junction in Camden Park.

Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb | September 23 – 26

The Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb is a multi-day annual spring equinox celebration bringing together the region’s new-season lamb, food, wine, art and culture.

Celebrating the first buds of the vines and the arrival of lamb, the festival champions a paddock-to-plate approach, with participating restaurants, venues and hotels taking a whole lamb from a local farmer and working with their butcher and producer to make the most of every cut. This year’s program will expand beyond the plate with Fashion Design and Art Awards and exhibitions, workshops and a symposium, alongside a Chinese theme featuring visiting artists, fashion designers and a guest chef.

Nature Festival | September 25 – October 11

Nature Festival 2026 will transform South Australia into a statewide celebration of nature, culture and community, with more than 350 events running from September 25th to October 11th. From seed swaps and First Nations storytelling to botanical art, food, music, gardens and outdoor adventures, the festival will offer experiences for all ages across the state. This year’s theme, Seed, explores how small acts can grow into meaningful change for people, communities and the environment. Highlights include a Seedling Exchange on North Terrace, an oyster reef restoration project by Sophie Hyde, First Nations cultural experiences, springtime farm picnics and events spanning from Andamooka to Kangaroo Island.

2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final | September 26

The AFL Grand Final is just around the corner, and while it takes place MCG, there will be heaps going on around SA to get involved and view the match in style. Check in with your local pub as we’re sure they’ll have something planned to celebrate the day, especially if an SA team makes the final!

SA Historic Motoring Festival | September 26 – 27

The SA Historic Motoring Festival and Centennial Grand Prix experience will celebrate South Australia’s rich motorsport heritage on September 26th and 27th, connecting iconic locations with historic vehicles and live racing experiences.

Saturday will feature a quarter-mile sprint program, while Sunday will see cars from different eras take on the full historic street circuit, with spectators able to watch from multiple vantage points and access pit areas and family zones. Alongside the action, visitors can get up close to historic vehicles through displays and demonstration runs, with the coastal setting adding to an experience that blends heritage, engineering and community for motorsport enthusiasts, families and curious visitors alike.
