Classic Aussie rock band Hoodoo Gurus have rescheduled the Australian leg of their special 40th anniversary world tour, as surging COVID cases continues to spell an uncertain cloud over the Australian music industry.

Frontier Touring wishes to advise that due to the uncertainty around border closures and current COVID restrictions across and into Australia, Hoodoo Gurus upcoming December tour will be rescheduled for April 2022.

However, while Australians will need to wait for a later date to see the Aussie rock gurus do their thing, it is good news for Tasmania, with Hoodoo Gurus adding an additional Hobart show to their nationwide tour.

“Let’s face it, folks  2021 is a write-off. We had high hopes earlier in the year that the pandemic would be behind us by now but… well, you know as well as I do,” says lead singer Dave Faulkner.

“Delta skelter, dashed hopes, spilt milk, whatever, we won’t let it break us. Stay strong, stay safe and stay put we’ll get everything back on track in 2022. As the song says, all the good times we had we’ll have again. Believe it.”

No need to worry if you’ve already nabbed a seat on the anticipated tour, tickets will remain valid for the postponed April 2022 date, allowing you to rock out stress-free come next year. Patrons unable to attend new dates may obtain a full refund. Refund requests must be submitted prior to Wednesday 3 November.

General public tickets for the already announced Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney dates will go on sale 10am local time today, Wednesday 6 October. Tickets for the Hobart will go on sale Friday 10 October at 10am local time.

Touring in support of the 40th Anniversary of their first live show in 1981 plus the release of their latest single World of Pain, Hoodoo Gurus are planning big things for 2022, including the release of their forthcoming 10th studio album, with details to be announced very soon. With special guests, iconic US indie-darlings, The Dandy Warhols, on the bill, this is a stellar line-up you won’t want to miss.
