Port Elliot bakery’s August donut brings nostalgic winter vibes

The popular bakery has revealed its Sticky Date inspired donut of the month alongside the Vegan Curry Pie that is back by popular demand.

It’s the first day of a new month. You wake up, refreshed ready to take on the day, week and month ahead. You’ve got goals to achieve, and targets to smash and you’re feeling motivated to get the month off to the best start possible.

You bound out of bed, excited, and do what every good South Australian does on the first – check the Port Elliot Donut of the Month.

Once again, the legends down south have gone above and beyond with a delicious donut flavour and this time, with school holidays done and dusted, they’ve opted for a more *mature* pallet perhaps and the perfect embodiment of winter in a donut.

Say hello to the Sticky Date drizzled in Caramel Butterscotch Sauce. Soft, sweet donut-y goodness topped with fresh dates and cream, this little guy is the ultimate winter indulgent and one I think we all deserve.

If sweet isn’t your thing, the infamous bakery also does a special pie of the month and this time it’s one back by popular demand. This is the third time the Vegan Curry Pie has returned with both vegans and meat-eaters alike falling in love with this creation.

It’s not secret that Port Elliot Bakery is one of the best in the business and with that means long lines, especially on weekends, are to be expected. But, the team are pros in handling the large crowds so while the line may look long and daunting, it tends to move quite quickly.

But, if you’d like to avoid the line and get yourself a table out the front, get in early and beat the crowds or better yet, take yourself on a mid-week getaway and enjoy the beauty of Port Elliot (and the bakery) without the fuss.

Port Elliot Bakery is located at 31 North Terrace, Port Elliot, SA.
