Winter Reds is back this July and there is tonnes on. Here are our top picks of what to check out!

An Adelaide Hills favourite is just around the corner, as Winter Reds returns this July! From the 24th to the 26th, this fantastic wine region will come alive as wineries and venues across the region put their best foot (and red wines) forward for you to explore. While there is going to be heaps on, we’ve picked out a few of our favourites to check out over the weekend.

Matt Preston’s Housewarming at Vinteloper | July 24

The headline event kicking off Winter Reds will see Matt Preston head to Vinteloper’s house on the hill, with warm lights, bold reds, roaming feasts and a buzzing house-gathering atmosphere set against the moody backdrop of a Hills winter night.

This intimate, limited-ticket event invites guests to mingle with benchmark Adelaide Hills wine producers and rub shoulders with food icon Matt Preston in a relaxed and inviting setting designed for grazing, sipping and socialising.

House of Vino | July 25

Introducing a new kind of soiree to the Winter Reds scene, Bird in Hand’s House of Vino is bringing some of South Australia’s most in-demand DJs, including Alex Hosking and Opposites Attract, to its Adelaide Hills home turf.

Rather than a quiet cellar door tasting, this one is designed to feel more like a wine-fuelled day party, with music, shared food and plenty of reds flowing.

Red Revival Party | July 25

Golding Wines’ Red Revival Party is where bold reds, generous food and great music come together for a day of celebration. Settle in with a glass in hand, then follow the energy as it builds between the barn, the bar and the dance floor.

Inside, the barn will be humming with 90’s DJ sets from Choons and Moovz, while outside, the firepits will be stoked for fireside conversations that can stretch long into the afternoon. Of course, there will also be plenty of red wine.

ChocoVino Masterclass at Hahndorf Hill | July 25 – 26

Escape to the Adelaide Hills this Winter Reds weekend and settle in for a decadent fireside experience at Hahndorf Hill.

El Rancho at The Lane Vineyard | July 25 – 26

El Rancho is officially riding back into The Lane Vineyard this July. After a sold-out debut last year, the much-loved ranch-style winter takeover returns on Saturday, 25th and Sunday, 26th, once again transforming The Lane’s terrace into a cosy, ranch-style fire-lit escape overlooking an iconic rolling vineyard view.

JaumaFest

For one weekend, slow seasonal living, food, natural wine and live music will come together on Jauma’s doorstep for a joyful and enchanting Winter Reds celebration. JaumaFest is taking over Jauma Farm in Lenswood across Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July, bringing wine, woodfire pizza, music, farm tours and fireside moments to the Adelaide Hills.

Paracombe Wines is hosting The Winter Table, a long lunch designed to immerse the senses in great food, beautiful wine and warmth. The event stands out not only for its long-lunch menu, live music and rolling vineyard views, but also because Paracombe’s cellar door is usually available by appointment only, making this one of the more special stops on the Winter Reds calendar.

The Shiraz Social: Country Edit! | July 25 – 26

Saddle up for a rip-roaring winter weekend at Howard Vineyard, as their much-loved Winter Reds event returns for its third year, this time with a bold country twist.

This will be a day full of premium red wine, hearty winter fare, and boot-stompin’ good times. From the high-energy Boot Scootin’ Marquee, complete with live country band and dance floor, to the laid-back Saddle Club, acoustic tunes and DJs in Vineyard Paddock Lane, and the cosy Barn Terrace, there’s a spot for every kind of festival-goer.
