Adelaide’s first and only fine-dining vegan restaurant announces reopening after 16-month closure

The restaurant’s socials have been quiet until last month when it announced that it will be reopening in the new year after a 16-month closure.

Beloved Adelaide restaurant, Allegra Dining Room, was Adelaide’s first and only “fine-dining” vegan restaurant, before it’s closure in 2021. It was also one of the city’s most coveted dining establishments. The family-owned restaurant got the recognition it deserved when it made SA’s best restaurant list in 2019 and remained a highly visited location.

The popular restaurant owners Federico and Melissa Pisanelli, who also own Erica on the ground floor of the same building, closed Allegra in September of 2021 so that they could maintain their focus on their young family after the birth of their first child.

Since then, the restaurant’s socials have remained quiet, before springing back to life in December 2022, when the Allegra announced on its Facebook page that it will be reopening in the new year after a 16-month closure.

The business posted “WE’RE BACK! From 29 January we will be serving our full course dinner. An experience offering a compilation of dishes that best represent the season. Wishing you a very happy Christmas, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.”

When the beloved restaurant opens at the end of the month, it will welcome the continuation of the classic authentic style of their plant-based menu and detailed wine list – no doubt bringing a fresh take on this new era for the business.

The Allegra team has announced they will be focused on delivering full-course meals that best represent and showcase the seasonal sensations of this region.

Motivated by flavour, nature and innovation; the Allegra team rely on what is near with ideas inspired by afar.

Each night they present a full course dinner showcasing a collection of plant-based dishes that best represent the season.

Allegra Dining Room has been a hit for a reason. It’s the creativity and attention to detail that lured in so many when it first opened. Once again, they have caught the attention of Adelaideans and their 28-seat dining room is set to be booked out once open.

Allegra Dining Room will be open from Thursday through to Sunday and bookings will be essential. Don’t miss out on an incredible opportunity to experience the Allegra Dining Room as it no doubt has its best opening yet.

Allegra is located at L1 125 Gilles Street, Adelaide.
